  • Finished

    Hello everyone,

Another week has gone by, and the first version of Until You Fall Asleep has been fully translated into English. I’ll be gradually adding each chapter to the website so you can read it and share your thoughts and feedback with me. It feels like ages since I first completed this short story in Dutch. It has evolved into a blend of emotions, reflections, and memories, all woven together into a narrative. The lingering question is whether it truly forms a cohesive story, or if it’s simply the ramblings of a lovesick mind. I’ll leave that for you to decide.

    Much love,
    Martijn

  • Emptiness

    Hey everyone,

A brand-new short story called Emptiness has been added to the Other Stories section of the website. It’s about inspiration escaping you when you need it the most. Some promotional artwork for Until you fall asleep has also been added to the story page. Unveiling a possible first cover for this short story.

As always, I hope you enjoy it.

    Lots of love,
    Martijn

  • Nodding

    Hello everyone,

As promised in my last blog post, I’m happy to share that my new short story, Nodding, is now up on the Other Stories page. It’s about those awkward moments, like sitting on a train with bad morning breath, and the quiet thoughts that go along with them. I hope you enjoy it!

    Lots of love,
    Tinus

  • Almost done

The last three chapters of Until You Fall Asleep have finally been translated into English, and I’m excited to share this progress with all of you! I’m still in the process of reviewing them to make sure everything reads smoothly and adjusting a few things where needed. Once I finish that, I’ll be ready to share the complete story with everyone. However, I’ll likely label it as a “first version” because I believe there’s always room for improvement. And that’s where I’ll be relying on your feedback and support to make it even better than it is right now.

In addition to this, I’m also working on a new short story titled Nodding, which I’m looking forward to sharing soon. I’ll be posting it on the website, so be sure to check back for updates. Thanks for all your patience and enthusiasm, and I can’t wait to hear what you think about both stories!

  • Pasture

A new short story has been added called Pasture. A story about how we limit our own creative process sometimes with the fear of criticism. But without this criticism, we can’t adapt and grow with our work. Pushing ourselves to gain exposure can be scary as hell.

Today I pushed myself to join an open stage storytelling evening. Something I have done before in the past and would love to do again. So I send out an email asking if they would consider me telling a story. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for this one.

  • Pills

    Hello everyone,

January has come and gone, and a new short story has been added. This one is called Sleeping Pills. It’s about the thoughts that can keep you up at night and how life sometimes seems to laugh right at you. But it ends on a happy note.

A new banner has been added to the Other Stories section of the website and the titles of the last few chapters of The Things that I Have Kept from You have been added. The first chapter of Until You Fall Asleep will also appear soon.

    Lots of love,

    T.

  • Halfway

    Hello everyone,

I am now halfway done translating Until You Fall Asleep from the Dutch language to English. It’s both an exciting and excruciating process, to be quite honest. I hope specific sentences, little jokes, and the rhythm of the story do not get lost in translation. But there is a first for everything, I guess.

A small preview in the form of the shortest chapter has been added to the website. Chapter 6, called Birds, is now available to read, so I am really curious what you all think about it. You can find it by going to the story page and clicking on the Until You Fall Asleep button. This will also reveal the introduction to the story and the names of all the other chapters.

    I hope you like it.

  • Snot

In order to give the website a bit more body, I have added yet another story to the website. This short story is called Snot and falls into the same category as usual: The things that I have kept from you. Someone having a little snack on the train makes me question the current state of my life.

  • Tightrope

Another short story has been added to the Other Stories page called Tightrope. I guess you could consider it the results of a short study in the duality in me. Or perhaps it’s just me overthinking some self-reflection. I hope you like it.

  • Disrupted

A new short story called Disrupted has been added to the Other Stories page of the website. It’s about looking in the mirror and sometimes liking what you see, and sometimes not so much. And how we change ourselves in order to feel wanted and adored.
