The city is governed by The Conductors.

Long ago, they were the people who first learned to tap into the Heart’s energy without shattering the crystal. Over generations they became engineers, historians, judges, and caretakers all at once.

Every district is connected to the Heart by an intricate network of crystal veins, copper cables, and ancient substations carved into the rock itself. The Conductors maintain this invisible circulatory system, repairing fractures, balancing the flow of energy, and preserving knowledge that few others understand.

To the people, they are less rulers than custodians. Their greatest responsibility is ensuring that the Heart is never disturbed.

No one alive remembers what happened the last time it was.
